Mr. Charles Burns holds a Master’s Degree in Education and Administration, as well as a bachelor's degree in Speech and Theatre. His certifications in Oklahoma encompass school administration, English, and speech/drama/debate. Prior to assuming the role of principal, he spent eight years as a classroom teacher in various subjects, including English, reading, gifted and talented, speech, theatre, stagecraft, and yearbook.

During his tenure at Oakdale, Mr. Burns dedicated three years to teaching and two years as the Dean of Students before becoming a principal. While his primary experience lies in teaching intermediate and middle school (4th-8th grades), he also takes pleasure in his involvement as a director and teaching artist for various art and performance camps throughout the state, catering to a wide range from pre-kindergarten to college attendees.

Before embarking on his career as a classroom teacher, Mr. Burns served as a college instructor and advisor. Additionally, he fulfilled the role of executive director for an arts and theatre council, showcasing his affinity for arts education and his commitment to assisting young individuals in discovering their true passions in life.

During his leisure time, Mr. Burns and his family find joy in traveling, camping, hiking, trying new restaurants, watching movies, dancing in the living room, and attending all types of live performances.
