Dear Rocket Community,
We have scheduled school staff to be onsite to allow access to the school shelter in the event of an imminent weather emergency. Access to the shelter is available only when staff volunteer to be onsite, so when that happens, please remember to thank them. We will use social media and school notifications to notify the community that the shelter is open. If you do not receive a notification, you should assume the shelter is not available.
A few things to keep in mind when using the school shelter area:
Please enter through the southeast gym entrance. The shelter is the “Auxiliary” gym behind the main gym.
This is often a chaotic situation. Participants are not allowed to play basketball or any other activity that may contribute to the chaos or interfere with the management of the facility. Children should bring something to occupy their time as quietly as possible.
Pets must remain in a kennel or other restrictive container.
All participants must follow the directions of school staff.
When school staff determine the emergency no longer exists, all participants must exit the school immediately.
Thank you for your cooperation. Please be safe,
Carl Johnson, Ph.D.
Superintendent
Oakdale Public School
