Our incoming 4th graders read Growing Home by Beth Ferry and gathered on July 8 for a fun-filled Book Club with Mrs. Branscum and Mrs. Dunn! 💙🚀
Students worked together to complete an exciting escape room featuring five puzzles inspired by the characters from the story. 🧩📖 After solving each challenge, they uncovered a secret message inviting them to join Arthur's Mystery Society and meet their new plant friends! 🌿🔍✨
What a fantastic way to keep reading, thinking, and collaborating all summer long! We can't wait to see these readers back at Oakdale this fall! ❤️💙

Our 6th-8th Grade Summer Book Club had an unforgettable adventure with A Hero's Guide to Summer Vacation! 📚☀️🚗
Students brought the story to life by creating journals just like the main character, decorating United States-shaped cookies with icing and M&Ms to trace the family's road trip across the country, and testing their knowledge with a fun game of Jeopardy! They also enjoyed pizza and drinks while sharing their favorite parts of the book. 🍕🍪🇺🇸🎉

Oakdale Band Students Riley Rhin, Eve Phillips, Silas Weaver, and Roscoe Ingram represented our school well by attending the SWOSU Middle School Band Camp this week! The camp consisted of four days of music-making and fun activities that culminated with a Wednesday afternoon concert. Way to go, Rockets! 🚀

Our 5th Grade Summer Book Club had a fantastic time diving into Gus and Glory! 📚🐾
Students brought the story to life through puzzle races, table topics, a memory game, cookie decorating, prizes, and even a special visit from a real bloodhound! They also enjoyed pizza and plenty of fun with fellow readers. 🍕🐶🍪🏆
A special thank you to Jill Clark for providing the cookies that made the day even sweeter!

Fifth graders brought back an Oakdale tradition with a twist—Kite Day! 🪁💨
Instead of traditional kites, students designed and built their own sled kites before heading to the football field to see them soar. It was a great opportunity to put science into action while learning about flight, wind, and engineering principles.
What a fun way to end the school year with hands-on learning, fresh air, and plenty of smiles! Way to go, fifth graders! 🚀💚

As they prepare to make their landing in middle school, students put their creativity, engineering, and problem-solving skills to the test in this fun, hands-on activity.

📢 OSTP Preliminary Results Available Today! 📢

Parents of outgoing 3rd-8th graders, preliminary Oklahoma State Testing Program (OSTP) results are now available through the Oklahoma State Testing Portal.

📧 Be on the lookout for an email from TeacherEase today that will include your child's State Testing Number (STN). You will need this number, along with your child's date of birth, to access their preliminary scores.

Please note that these are preliminary results and are subject to final verification by the Oklahoma State Department of Education.

We are proud of the hard work and effort our students demonstrated during state testing this spring!

Mrs. Tipton, our 5th-grade teacher, began teaching her students to play chess during the last week of school 24 years ago, and she has continued the tradition at Oakdale ever since. ♟️
Students absolutely LOVE it! It is amazing to watch them go from knowing very little about chess to becoming strategic thinkers in just a few days. Through the game, students learn patience, problem-solving, planning, and critical thinking skills that will benefit them far beyond the chessboard.

Our Pre-K graduates took the stage to celebrate a very special milestone as they completed the first step in their educational journey. From learning letters and numbers to building friendships, confidence, and a love for learning, these students have grown so much this year!
The smiles, songs, and proud moments shared during graduation reminded us just how bright their futures are. We are so proud of every one of these young Rockets and cannot wait to see all they accomplish as they head to kindergarten! 🚀💙

A total of 36 students in 6th-8th grade and 18 fifth graders qualified for the celebration during their lunch times. Students enjoyed their outings just before school was out. Students were treated to pizza, salad, noodles, dessert, and even had time to have fun in the arcade! 🎮🍪🥗
A huge thank you to Mrs. Jones, our middle school librarian, for the incredible work she does encouraging a love of reading at Oakdale. Her dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to helping students discover great books continue to inspire students year after year. Opportunities like this are just one example of how she goes above and beyond to make reading exciting and rewarding for our students. 💚

We are excited to announce that the Oakdale Rockets Rowing Team brought home 1st place at the RIVERSPORT Youth Rowing League Championship Regatta weekend before school was out in the U15 Middle School Division! 🏆🚣💚
Oakdale was represented by two eight-person boats and earned both GOLD and BRONZE medals, along with bringing home the Championship Cup! 🥇🥉🏆
We are also proud to celebrate two Oakdale students who competed at the US Rowing Central Youth Rowing Championship Regatta earlier this month and earned multiple gold medals:
🥇 Carson Knopp — Men’s Youth U16 4x+ and Men’s Youth U17 4+
🥇 Blythe Charlton — Women’s Youth U15 4x+

Kindergarteners are glowing it up thanks to the “Special Days Grant” funded by OSF! ✨🌟
Each kindergarten class spent the day reviewing important skills from last semester, and OSF helped make learning extra fun with glow sticks, black lights, vests, hats, balloons, and glowing decorations. 💡🪩🎈😎

Our third graders did a spectacular job on their Wax Museum presentations! Each student selected a famous person, researched their life and accomplishments, and prepared a short speech to share with visitors.
Guests visiting the museum had to press the red button on each student’s display to hear the “wax figure” come to life and speak. The students truly impressed everyone with their creativity, knowledge, and presentation skills.
Way to go, third graders! What a fun and memorable way to bring history to life for both the students and all the visitors to the museum. 💚🚀

These kindergartners had a blast with Mrs. Hall and Mrs. Hare on their OSF Kids Auction outing! From playtime at Whispering Heights Park in Edmond to sweet treats at Braum’s, the day was filled with smiles, laughter, and fun memories made together.🍧🛝
