📚❤️ Book Buddies in Action! ❤️📚

Our 8th-grade students continue the long-standing tradition of Book Buddies with their 1st-grade counterparts. We love seeing our oldest Rockets step into leadership roles—reading, mentoring, and setting wonderful examples of the importance of literacy in our daily lives.
Moments like these show what it truly means to be part of the Oakdale community. 🚀✨

📅 Looking Ahead to 2026–2027!

We've been getting questions about next year's calendar (we know you are anxious to plan)! To let you know, Oakdale’s Board of Education will discuss and adopt the 2026–2027 school calendar at the February board meeting (2/10/26). This calendar will outline important dates for the upcoming school year, including the first and last days of school, holidays, and breaks.

Families will be able to access the calendar shortly after the meeting. We appreciate your patience as we plan ahead for another great year at Oakdale! 🚀

💙 Board Appreciation Month 💙
This month, we are proud to celebrate the incredible service of Oakdale’s three-member Board of Education. These leaders give their time, talents, and hearts to ensure our students, staff, and community thrive.

Caeli Williams – President
Caeli and her husband, Brian, have been part of the Oakdale community for 17 years and are raising three children here. A longtime volunteer, Caeli has served Oakdale through PTC leadership, RocketPack coordination, and now leads our Teacher Appreciation Committee. With a background in nursing and a heart for service, Caeli’s love for this school shines in everything she does.

Jodi Hietpas – Vice President
Jodi and her husband, Greg, returned to Oakdale in 2011 and are raising their son, Wyatt, in our community. Jodi has served on the Oakdale School Foundation and is passionate about foster care and special education. A University of Oklahoma graduate and business owner, she brings creativity, compassion, and advocacy to our board.

Kimber Shoop – Clerk
Kimber is a dedicated father of three and husband to Jennifer Hammons Shoop. With two Oakdale graduates and a daughter currently enrolled, Oakdale is truly home. Professionally, Kimber serves as Director of Regulatory Policy and Planning at OG&E, following a distinguished career in law and public service. He brings deep expertise and thoughtful leadership to our board.

We are grateful for these three leaders who serve Oakdale with integrity, vision, and care. Please join us in thanking them for all they do for our students and community! 🚀

Reminder JV Boys and Varsity Girls play at 4:00, followed by JV Boys and Varsity Boys at 5:00. We will be in the two gyms on the backside (east side, I believe) of the Millwood Campus.

Millwood is a digital ticketing school and does not accept cash at the gate. They also have a clear bag policy for all patrons.

📸 Pictured: the Lost & Found fashion show no one signed up for 😆 Hats, gloves, sweatshirts, jackets, and more are currently hanging out in our Lost & Found waiting to be reunited with their owners. If your child came home missing an item… it’s probably here living its best life. Parents—please have students check the Lost & Found (or come take a look yourself) before these items find a new home! 😉 #LostAndFound #WhoseIsThis #CheckYourCloset #SchoolLife #ParentReminder #ProudToBe 🚀

📚✨ Just a glimpse of the indelible difference being made in the lives of our 5th–8th graders! ✨📚
Book clubs continue to have a powerful impact—instilling a true love of reading and bringing stories to life for our Rockets. 🚀
Huge kudos to Mrs. Jones for the extra time, care, and dedication she pours into creating meaningful reading experiences for our students. This marked the final book club of the semester for Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Keyser, perfectly wrapped up with The Last Holiday Concert 🎶📖 book club.
Reading is more than words on a page—it’s connection, curiosity, and joy. 💛

Our 4th grade students brought their fictional narrative characters to life!
Working together in art class with Ms. Camp, students created claymation characters to match the characters from their fictional narratives. This project was a fantastic crossover between art and language arts, allowing students to see their stories take shape in a tangible, creative way.

Mrs. Dunn’s featured characters, created by Ms. Camp, include Drew and Daisy (brother and sister), the Snowmonster, and Sugar Plum the Fairy. 🎭🖌️📚

Even though Christmas is over, it’s still the perfect time to share memories!
Our Builders Club enjoyed time together before the break with a pizza lunch, Christmas music, and some cookie decorating. This year, they’ll be working to support Friends of Jimmy Everest Center, and we’re excited for the impact they’ll make.

Be on the lookout for upcoming events and ways you can support or encourage our Builders Club—their service and leadership will make a meaningful difference this year.🍕🍪❤️

Even though Christmas has passed, this moment is too sweet not to share. Our Pre-K friends cuddled up on the rug to enjoy ’Twas the Night Before Christmas, soaking in the magic of a favorite holiday story. Mrs. Parish and Mrs. Booker have a special way of creating meaningful moments and memories that make Pre-K extra magical. Moments like these make the season unforgettable. ❤️🎄

Mrs. Harrison’s 4th-grade GT class is tapping into their creativity!
Students designed and created their own games from start to finish, then shared the fun by playing them with their classmates. From clever concepts to thoughtful rules and problem-solving, these GT students demonstrated that creating is learning, and learning happens best through doing. Their innovation, collaboration, and critical thinking were on full display!🎲✨🚀
